Welcome to the Section 508 IT Accessibility Community (SEC508ITAC). This community consists of U.S. government professionals who work to enhance access to federal information technology (IT). We identify and promote best practices for compliance with Section 508 law and conformance to the Revised 508 Standards, both of which are shown below. We share successful practices and information and engage advocacy groups, industry, and academia around innovative solutions for accessible technology.

Community Management
This community is managed by the General Services Administration’s (GSA) Government-wide IT Accessibility Team, which supports Section 508 Program Managers, content creators, web developers, procurement professionals, Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and other agency executives, and others working to buy and build accessible IT through universal design principles, procurement best practices and digital product development.
Community Conduct
The Communities of Practice are hosted by Digital.gov, a service of the Technology Transformation Services (TTS) within GSA. GSA is a federal agency subject to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and must comply with requests for records made under FOIA. As a result, all communications made on this Communities of Practice LISTSERV are subject to release under FOIA.
