Assessment Procedures

As mentioned earlier, assessing whether your application conforms to this provision is simple. Utilize the following steps to perform your test:

  • Open the application to be tested.
  • Navigate through the application.
  • Determine whether the product allows a user to adjust color and contrast settings.
  • Determine whether the product provides the user with a variety of color/contrast settings.
  • If these items are not available, they will need to be addressed during remediation.
  • There may be tools to automate this procedure. Since all twelve provisions can not be measured in an automated way, manual test procedures must accompany any automated processes used to ensure complete testing is performed, and eliminate inaccurate results.
