Now that you have assessed your application, let's take a look at how to circumvent usability problems created by a lack of customizable settings (or lack of setting variety).

In order for your application to respect a user-defined color scheme, you must never alter or extend the use of color beyond the scheme designated by the operating system. An occasion may arise where an application requires the use of a unique color-related feature (such as specialized color for data entry). In these instances, you will need to provide additional color preferences (so that the user can select colors unique to their situation).
