  1. Search fields can be left without a label since their use is obvious to the user.
  2. Placing a label directly above an edit field will tell users what to do for this input item.
  3. Tab order is only important if the form has more than one column.
  4. Place labels to the left of fields, and end them with punctuation marks to help assistive technology separate the label from the field data.
