February 1, 2018 - Over the past year, federal agencies have been working to transition to the Revised 508 Standards, and the FAR Council is working on regulatory updates to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).

June 12, 2017 - On Thursday, August 10, 2017, the Section 508 Community of Practice (CoP) held its final meeting at the National Science Foundation (NSF) in Arlington, VA. After six years, the NSF is moving to a new location, so future CoP events will be held at the General Services Administration at 1800 F Street NW in Washington, DC.
January 10, 2017 - The United States Access Board has refreshed Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. The General Services Administration's Government-wide Section 508 Program, along with the Access Board, and the Accessibility Community of Practice, will guide agencies through the transition with training, tools, and communication resources.
January 9, 2017 - Tim Cregan of the Access Board reports that the Access Board has released a final rule that updates accessibility requirements for information and communication technology (ICT) in the federal sector covered by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
