About IAAF

The annual Interagency Accessibility Forum (IAAF) provides a venue for federal accessibility professionals, buyers, developers, designers, project managers, leadership and many others to exchange best practices in managing and implementing digital accessibility standards and reporting required by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (29 USC 794d).

2025 IAAF

The 2025 Interagency Accessibility Forum (IAAF) will be built on the theme Accessible by Design: Enhancing Efficiency in Federal ICT, and take place virtually on Zoom for Government from May 20-21. The event is hosted by the Government-wide IT Accessibility Program within the Office of Government-wide Policy (OGP) at the General Services Administration (GSA), and co-sponsored by the U.S. Access Board (USAB) in collaboration with other federal agencies.

This year’s IAAF will be held May 20-21, 2025 and feature a mix of presenters and speakers, workshops, and discussions led by accessibility professionals in the federal, private, academic and other sectors.

  • Leveraging Project Management to Streamline the GSA Section 508 Annual Assessment as a Project (Part 1)
  • Project Managing 508 Assessment – A Fictionalized Agency Case Study (Part 2)
  • Enhancing Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities
  • Navigating Federal Acquisitions: Buying Accessible Tech
  • Accessible Self Service Kiosks
  • Differences in ICT Accessibility Regulations US Access Board, TBD Shared Services Canada, TBD DOJ
  • Market Research as a Service (MRAS)
  • Accessibility Debt: Developing a Roadmap
  • Introduction to the Accessibility Requirements Tool (ART) and the Solicitation Review Toll (SRT)

Accessibility Accommodations and Services

American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and Real Time Captioning (CART) will be available in all sessions. Electronic documents will be available for download from the agenda prior to the day of the session.

IAAF Archives

Since 2013, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) along with federal agency partners has hosted the annual Interagency Accessibility Forum (IAAF) for agency representatives to learn about federal accessibility policies and how they can adapt Section 508 standards to prioritize IT accessibility.

Over the years, conference attendees have heard from a range of presenters, panelists, and keynote speakers across a variety of topics, perspectives, and experiences. Notable speakers include former and active members of Congress, commission chairs and other senior leaders within government and the accessibility community.
