In Module 17 of the Accessible Name & Description Inspector (ANDI) Tool video series, learn how to use the ANDI Hidden Content module to test meaningful content inserted into a page using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to ensure meaningful information is presented in another way on the page.
Voice Over (VO): Welcome to the ANDI CSS Content and Positioning Module. The purpose of this module is to test meaningful content inserted in a page using Cascading Style Sheets CSS.
VO: Note, for this module, no ANDI output is available. To start, open a web page and launch ANDI. Next, choose the Select Module drop-down menu and navigate to the Hidden Content Module.
VO: The Content before/after menu displays the number of elements inserted using CSS. To evaluate meaningful content inserted using CSS, the Content before/after menu displays the number of elements inserted using CSS.
VO: Select the Content before/after menu. ANDI highlights inserted content with a solid red outline.
VO: Next, identify if the hidden content contains meaningful information. If so, confirm the same information is presented in another way on the page.
VO: To evaluate content order and meaning CSS position, select the Advanced Settings button to expand the menu options. This button appears as a gear icon.
VO: Then select the Linerize Page checkbox. Linerize content is highlighted with a solid blue outline.
VO: A CSS element passes when hidden meaningful content is presented in another way, and Linerize content has a logical reading order.
VO: A CSS element fails when hidden meaningful content is not presented in another way, and Linerize content does not display in a logical reading order.
VO: The test does not apply when there is no hidden content, no meaningful content inserted using before or after, and/or there is no Linerize content.
VO: This concludes the ANDI CSS Content and Positioning module. Users are encouraged to view the other videos for more information on how to utilize ANDI.
