In Module: 7 of the Accessible Name & Description Inspector (ANDI) Tool video series, discover how to use the ANDI Structures module to inspect visually apparent lists on the page to ensure the programmatic markup conveys the correct list type and list relationship in its structure.
Voice Over (VO): Welcome to the Andy Structured List module. The purpose of this module is to inspect visually apparent lists on the page to ensure a programmatic markup conveys the correct list type and list relationship in its structure.
VO: To start, open a web page and launch Andy. Next, choose the Select Module drop-down menu and navigate to the Structures module.
VO: Once selected, the menu option displays the number of lists found at the top of the page. To evaluate lists, select the List button. All programmatically defined lists will be highlighted with a dotted purple outline.
VO: Next, select the previous element or next element button to navigate between lists on the page. Once the list receives focus, it is highlighted with a solid pink outline.
VO: Review the visually apparent list has the correct list type, such as ordered OL, unordered UL, or description DL by reviewing the element attribute. The list passes when it is programmatically structured and conveys the correct list type and relationship in its structure.
VO: The list fails when it is not programmatically structured and does not convey the correct list type and relationship in its structure. The test does not apply when there are no visually apparent lists on the page.
VO: This concludes the Andy Structured List module. Users are encouraged to view the other videos for more information on how to utilize Andy.
