Module 2: Focus Element

Voice Over (VO): Welcome to the ANDI Focussable Elements module. The purpose of this module is to analyze all focusable interactive elements with keyboard access and visual focus.

VO: Note, the focusable elements module is not used to test visible focus. To start, open a web page and launch ANDI.

VO: Focusable elements is the default module. It displays the number of focusable elements found at the top of the page. To evaluate focusable elements, select the previous element or next element button to navigate the focusable elements on the page.

VO: When an interactive element receives focus, it is highlighted with a solid pink outline. ANDI identifies the element attribute. Evaluate the ANDI output to validate if it adequately describes the highlighted element.

VO: An interactive element passes if it receives focus, properly indicates the element attribute, and the ANDI output displays adequate programmatic markup. An interactive element fails if it does not receive focus, does not associate the proper element attribute, and the ANDI output does not display adequate programmatic markup.

VO: The test results does not apply when there are no focusable elements found on the page. This concludes the ANDI focusable elements module. Users are encouraged to view the other videos for more information on how to utilize ANDI.
