In Module: 6 of the Accessible Name & Description Inspector (ANDI) Tool video series, understand how to use the ANDI Structures module to verify that the page content contains logical heading levels and the heading levels are programmed accurately, and to provide descriptive headings for content structure.
Voice Over (VO): Welcome to the Andy Structure Heading Levels module. The purpose of this module is to verify the page content contains logical heading levels and the heading levels are programmed accurately.
VO: To start, open a web page and launch Andy. Next, choose the Select Module drop-down menu and navigate to the Structures module.
VO: Once selected, the number of programmatically defined headings will display at the top of the page. To evaluate structured heading levels, select the Headings button.
VO: All programmatically defined headings will be highlighted with a dotted purple outline. Next, select the previous element or next element button to navigate between headings on the page.
VO: Once a heading receives focus, it is highlighted with a solid pink outline. Alternatively, select the plus sign from the View Outline button and navigate the complete list of headings.
VO: Review the Andy output to verify the page content contains logical heading levels and the heading levels are programmed accurately. The heading level passes when the content contains logical heading levels and the heading levels are programmed accurately.
VO: The heading level fails when the content does not contain logical heading levels and/or the heading levels are not programmed accurately. The test does not apply when there are no visually apparent headings on the page.
VO: This concludes the Andy Structure Heading Levels module. Users are encouraged to view the other videos for more information on how to utilize Andy.
